Indonesia visa — photo requirements

Indonesia's official e-visa portal (evisa.imigrasi.go.id, run by the Directorate

General of Immigration) defines the photo upload in its user manual as a colour

JPEG at minimum 400 x 600 pixels and no larger than 2 MB - a 2:3 portrait ratio,

which is the exact canvas this tool exports. The manual does not publish a numeric

head-height band or a background colour rule, so the guide lines here follow the

70-80 percent ICAO convention and we recommend a plain white or very light wall:

Indonesian immigration reviewers routinely pass photos that look like standard

passport portraits and reject scans, group photos, or heavily filtered images.

Keep the JPEG under 2 MB by letting the compressor step the quality down - at this

resolution a clean portrait lands far below the cap. Shoot face-on in even

daylight, no glasses glare, neutral expression, both eyes open, head coverings

only for religious or medical reasons with the full face visible. Prepare the

photo before you start the application because the portal session expires and a

failed upload mid-form means starting the payment step again. After downloading,

open the JPEG once to confirm it shows only you, upright, with nothing cut off at

the chin or the top of the head.
