Background replacement only — facial features are never altered. Some authorities (US State Dept, UK HMPO, Canada IRCC) require unedited photos; check your destination's rules and prefer a real plain background when possible.
Align the top of the head between the guide lines (70–80% of the frame).

Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs consulates worldwide list two passport
style photos, 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm), taken within the last six months, on a
plain white background, as a standard requirement for visa applications. At 300
DPI the 2 x 2 inch size is exactly 600 x 600 pixels, the canvas this tool exports.
The DFA publishes the print size and background rule but not a numeric head-height
band, so the guide lines here follow the 70-80 percent ICAO convention used in
Philippine consular practice - keep the head centred with a little shoulder
visible. No file-size cap applies because most submissions are prints; if a
consulate asks for digital copies, a 600 x 600 JPEG under a few hundred KB is
accepted without issue. Shoot straight on in even light against a white wall,
remove glasses to avoid glare, and keep both ears ideally visible. Photos older
than six months, group shots, or scans of printed photos with moire patterns are
routinely turned away at the counter. Bring two identical prints for the
application and staple or clip them as the consulate instructs - some posts
require one photo attached to the form and one loose.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a Philippines visa photo?
2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm) - 600 x 600 pixels at 300 DPI. Most consulates want two identical prints on plain white.
How recent does the photo need to be?
Taken within the last six months. Consulates compare your face to the photo and reject pictures that clearly look older.
Is there a file-size limit for digital copies?
No cap is published. A 600 x 600 JPEG at normal quality stays well under 300 KB, which every consulate accepts.
