Background replacement only — facial features are never altered. Some authorities (US State Dept, UK HMPO, Canada IRCC) require unedited photos; check your destination's rules and prefer a real plain background when possible.
Align the top of the head between the guide lines (70–80% of the frame).

Saudi Arabia's official tourist e-visa portal (visa.visitsaudi.com) publishes one of
the strictest photo specs of any online visa system: a square 200 x 200 pixel image,
between 5 KB and 100 KB, on a plain white background with no patterns or shadows.
The face must occupy 70-80 percent of the frame, which the portal defines as a head
measuring roughly 1.4 inches wide by 1.6 inches tall. Because the upper size limit
is only 100 KB, the compressor in this tool starts at your chosen quality and steps
down until the JPEG fits - for a clean white-background portrait this usually lands
well under the cap without visible loss at this small resolution. Do not upscale a
tiny crop; start from a sharp original at least 600 pixels wide so the 200 x 200
export keeps facial detail. Remove glasses, keep a neutral expression with both
eyes open, and shoot in even light so the white wall behind you stays flat white
with no grey gradient. The portal rejects photos with shadows across the face or
background, so face a window rather than standing under overhead lights.
Frequently asked questions
What size does the Saudi e-visa photo need?
Exactly 200 x 200 pixels, 5-100 KB, on a plain white background. The portal checks all three before it accepts the upload.
Why is my photo rejected at 100 KB?
Heavy camera noise and busy backgrounds inflate the file. Crop to the square here, keep the background flat white, and let the quality compressor bring the JPEG under 100 KB.
How much of the frame should my face fill?
70-80 percent, from just below the chin to just above the hair. Use the two guide lines on the crop frame to check.
